PowerUp Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training

Our comprehensive teacher training program is designed to equip you with the knowledge, confidence, and real-world experience to lead powerful, inclusive, and engaging Pilates classes. Whether your goal is to deepen your personal practice or launch a professional teaching career, this program will guide you through every stage of development—from foundational principles to advanced Reformer instruction. Each module builds progressively, combining hands-on practice, anatomical understanding, and expert mentorship to help you become a well-rounded, impactful instructor. Modules 1 and 2 can be taken in any order, but both must be completed in order to move to Module 3. 

Module 1: Reformer Foundations:
12-hour introduction to Pilates principles, Reformer basics, and foundational movements featured in PowerUp classes.

Module 2: Pilates Foundations + Anatomy:
30-hour training that covers classical mat Pilates, teaching fundamentals, and movement-based anatomy, leading to a Mat Pilates certification.

Module 3: Creative Reformer Sequencing:
10-hour deep dive into designing effective all levels Reformer classes with personalized coaching and real-time feedback.

Module 4: Advanced Reformer:
20-hour course exploring advanced exercises, class integration, and opportunities for real-world teaching through PowerUp community classes.

In order to test out and audition to teach at PowerUp Pilates, the following must also be completed:

  • Minimum 50 hours practice teaching
  • Minimum 20 class observations
  • Minimum 100 reformer classes attended

Module 1: Reformer Foundations

Location: PowerUp Pilates Johns Creek
Tuition: $499
Prerequisite: Minimum of 20 Reformer Pilates classes
Dates: September 27 & 28, 2025: 12 – 6

 

Whether you’re ready to begin your journey as a Pilates instructor or simply want to deepen your understanding of the Reformer, this training is the perfect place to start.

This 12-hour weekend course is the first module in our comprehensive PowerUp Pilates Teacher Training program. It’s designed to strengthen your personal practice and build a strong foundation for teaching. Throughout the weekend, you’ll explore a brief history of Pilates and the Reformer, review the core principles that define the Pilates method, and take a deep dive into the common movements that make up a PowerUp Pilates Signature class.

Training Highlights

  • Key Reformer exercises and their most common variations.
  • How to offer effective modifications and understand contraindications.
  • Techniques for incorporating props to enhance each movement.

Module 2: Pilates Foundations + Anatomy

Location: Lift Yoga Johns Creek (across the parking lot from PowerUp Pilates Johns Creek)
Tuition: $1,299
Prerequisite: Minimum of 50 Pilates classes (mat or Reformer)
Dates: August 16-17 & September 6-7, 2025: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

 

This 30-hour, two-weekend course forms the core of your Pilates teaching journey. You’ll establish a strong understanding of the foundational principles behind both mat and Reformer Pilates, while exploring how anatomical structures influence movement and exercise design.

Led by PowerUp Pilates Master Trainer, Gitisha Goel, this module includes:

  • 20 hours of in-person instruction
  • An 8–10 hour self-paced online anatomy intensive

You’ll leave this training with a Mat Pilates Teaching Certification, and the confidence to lead safe, effective, and inspiring classes. Option to audition to teach mat Pilates classes at Lift Yoga.

Weekend 1: Mat Foundations

  • Pilates principles + pre-pilates exercises
  • Classical mat repertoire
  • Intro to cueing and sequencing
  • Practice teaching in a supportive environment

Online Anatomy Course: 

  • Learn anatomical concepts through a movement-focused lens
  • Self-paced learning with interactive lessons and quizze
  • Access to online materials for one full year—an ideal reference as you begin teaching

Weekend 2: Anatomy Integration + Mat Progressions

  • Apply anatomy knowledge to create embodied movement experiences
  • Learn how to offer progressions, regressions, and modifications for diverse bodies
  • Extensive practice teaching with feedback

Module 3: Take your Pilates instruction to the next level!

Bring your lesson plans—whether they’re fully built or just rough ideas. You’ll have the chance to refine and elevate them with expert guidance. Don’t have a plan yet? No problem. Use one of our provided sequences as a launchpad to develop your own unique class.

Dates: November 1-2 & 15-16, 2025: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm

This 20-hour, two-weekend course is the final step in the PowerUp Pilates Teacher Training program. Building on the foundational and creative skills gained in the first three modules, this advanced training layers in more complex Reformer exercises while maintaining a strong emphasis on safe, inclusive, and effective group instruction.

You’ll refine your sequencing skills, expand your repertoire, and grow your confidence teaching advanced-level clients—all while staying true to the accessible and empowering PowerUp Pilates philosophy.

Gain Real World Experience
Completion of this course provides exclusive access to teach PowerUp Community Classes—donation-based classes that offer valuable hands-on teaching experience in a real studio environment. Apply everything you’ve learned in a supportive setting with real clients.
