Maribel Burke
Maribel has always been passionate about health and fitness. She has carried that love through most her life, both personally and professionally. After deciding to stay home to raise her children, Maribel discovered a fitness class at her church that inspired her to become certified as a group fitness instructor/personal trainer over 20 years ago.
After decades of high intensity classes, she suffered many injuries. Unfortunately, time wasn’t on her side and she could not continue at that pace, she knew she had to make a change. Knowing the benefits of Pilates, Maribel decided to become a Pilates instructor.
She was first certified in classical Pilates and later contemporary Pilates; she now has over 500 hrs of training. Maribel is also holds a certification through NASM as a personal trainer. But it was Pilates that truly opened her eyes to biomechanics and was where she healed her body.
Pilates allowed her to return to the hard core classes, where she able to move without injuries and made her stronger. She loves what she does; she sees it not as a job, but as her passion. The most rewarding part of being a Pilates instructor is helping others, she views fitness as healing, mind, body
and soul.
Maribel is married and a proud mother of a daughter and son. She credits her two beautiful kids for pushing her to be her best and discover new things every day. Her favorite past time is hanging out with her husband, kids, family, and dancing.
Alex Cade
Alex is a Georgia native who began her wellness practice in 2012. Being initially drawn to the strong yet mindful practice of yoga years ago, Alex began adding Pilates to her routine and quickly fell in love. She believes Pilates is the perfect combination of mindful movement, controlled strength, and deep breathwork. Alex completed her 200 hr YTT at Lift yoga in 2019 and since followed with Reformer Pilates training. With a desire to empower every student to know their own inner strength and inner voice, Alex teaches her classes with uplifting energy and unconditional faith in her students!
Lori Denton
After gymnastics, dance and cheerleading through high school, college and professionally (go Ravens!) left her body unable to handle high-impact workouts but still craving movement, Lori’s transition to yoga and pilates provided a powerfully transformative way to stay connected to both body and mind. After moving to Georgia and missing the connection she had found at studios where she had lived and practiced around North America, she decided to open a studio to build that sanctuary for movement and mindfulness.
In 2019, Lori took the leap and acquired her first yoga studio, marking the beginning of a journey that would see her expand into Pilates in 2022 with the launch of PowerUp Pilates at the Forum Athletic Club in Halcyon. Today, with four flourishing yoga studios and three thriving Pilates locations, Lori remains deeply grateful for her dedicated team, whose passion and expertise empower clients to discover their strongest, most capable selves every single day.
After two decades in the gaming industry, Lori made the decision to leave her corporate role in business development behind, dedicating herself fully to nurturing her growing community of wellness enthusiasts. An unwavering advocate for inclusivity and accessibility, Lori is committed to creating an environment where yoga and Pilates are celebrated as pathways to health and vitality for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Lori has a Baptiste Yoga Teaching Credential, Yoga Sculpt and Group Fitness certification from CorePower Yoga, and two 200-hour yoga teacher training certifications from Lift Yoga. Additionally, she is a certified Balanced Body Reformer Pilates instructor.
Melissa DeLynn
Melissa has been teaching movement for 15 years. With her background in yoga, meditation and weight training she weaves a challenging physical Pilates practice with a strong mental and mindful thread. As a trainer and coach, she is focused on serving others and meeting them where they are in their fitness and movement journey. Melissa teaches a strong yet accessible class with a direct focus on movement principles and alignment. She incorporates classical pilates principles with contemporary movement, weight training principles, neuroscience and somatics.
Allison Garland
Allison loves spending time in nature, traveling, and music. She began her journey with pilates in 2003 after the birth of her son and began pursuing a career in pilates in 2009. Allison has been an instructor since 2010. Her training consists of Peak Pilates Level 2 through Pilates of Greenville and she has trained under many great master teachers in the industry throughout her continuing education. She also is certified in Barre Above, and TRX suspension method and worked at a physical therapy studio for five years where she gained great knowledge of the human body and working with people with injuries. She is a nurturing person by nature and a people person. So, instructing Pilates doesn’t feel like work to her. She thinks the best part of teaching is seeing members grow and change through the process!
Gitisha Goel
Gitisha is a certified Pilates Instructor through Physical Mind. Her apparatus training consists of Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrel. She also works as a Geographical Information Specialist for a Cultural Resource firm in Atlanta.
Gitisha discovered Pilates about 8 years ago when she found out she had arthritis in her back. It was through Pilates that she learned to build her core, balance and strengthen her body. She fell in love with the way Pilates made her body feel and wanted to share that experience with others.
Gitisha loves her new career as a Pilates instructor because she gets to see people achieve their health and fitness goals. “Everyone who comes to the studio leaves slightly taller, a little more flexible, stronger and much more energized.”
Gitisha is bilingual in English and Hindi. When she is not teaching, she enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
